It was Johann Georg Paulus and his two other partners who are responsible for the success of this factory until 1803. In 1812 it was appointed as the official supplier of porcelain to Emperor Francis 1 of Austria and his daughter Marie Louise. Later on August Haas purchased shares and became the company’s sole owner. He employed his nephew Johann Czjzek. August died and Johann took over. This company even opened a department store in 1879 in Budapest. By 1945 the factory was nationalized by the Benes Decrees. By 1988, the factory in Horni Slavkov became part of the state enterprise Karlovarsky porcelain. Today Haas & Czjzek Company is independent and sells its own products. View more great items
